2026/27 Season

Sounds Like Portland Series

We’re doubling down on our commitment to art by Portland for Portland with the continuation of our Sounds Like Portland series. This season, we welcome voices from an expanded roster of local legends to the Oregon Symphony stage.

A Spotlight on the Music of Rose City

Edna Vazquez is bringing her unique musical heritage to the orchestra in the first Pops concert of the season. Folk singer John Craigie will make his symphonic debut with us in December. Chamber Music Northwest’s Artistic Directors, Gloria Chien and Soovin Kim, are starring in a performance that also includes a Kenji Bunch composition inspired by Oregon’s state motto.

Sounds Like Portland is also expanding into our family series with Caroline Shaw’s musical interpretation of a beloved children’s book. Plus, we’re featuring the world premiere of a work that we co-commissioned from composer Gabriel Kahane. Check back throughout the season as we add to our lineup, you won’t want to miss it!
