Harrison Linsey
Harrison Linsey is Principal Oboe of the Oregon Symphony. He joined the orchestra in the 2025–26 season after seven years with the National Symphony Orchestra, where he most recently served as Acting Assistant Principal Oboe. Prior to that, he held a position with the San Diego Symphony for three seasons.
A versatile collaborator, Harrison’s musical path gained momentum during his studies with Elaine Douvas at The Juilliard School, where his deep love for the oboe took root. He has appeared with many of the country’s leading ensembles, including guest principal performances with the Seattle, Detroit, and Pittsburgh symphonies, and engagements with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist, he was featured in 2023 performing Mozart’s Oboe Concerto with the National Symphony Orchestra at the National Institutes of Health. He also recorded the world premiere of Christopher Tyler Nickel’s Bass Oboe Concerto, released on Avie Records, showcasing a rarely-heard voice in the oboe family.
Each summer, Harrison returns to his home region of Washington state, where he serves as Principal Oboist of the Bellingham Festival of Music and performs chamber music with the Archipelago Collective on San Juan Island. A committed educator, he works with students of all ages, both privately and as a faculty member at the Hidden Valley Music Seminars Oboe Masterclass in California.
